April Chapter Meeting April 12th, 2018 Thursday Bristol Community College's Fall River Campus The Agile PMO How the traditional project management office fits into the Agile landscape by Diana Getman Since 1939, when the term “project management office” was coined, PMOs have led the project management effort at companies large and small, driving the process and standards used to deliver business results. Many companies fail to get results from Scrum not because the initial rollout, but because teams stop doing the handful of critical things that are needed to realize its benefits. The contemporary PMO fills this role perfectly and plays a critically important role in leading Agile transformations. By filling the ScrumMaster role on project teams, the PMO can ensure both the adoption and continued usage of Scrum principles across the organization. By attending this talk you will... Learn how the PMO is a critical part of the Agile Transformation. Understand how the traditional PMO fits into the agile organization. Understand a variety of ways the PMO can support agile teams throughout the organization Earn 2 PDUs! Registration is now OPEN Please note the meal option has expired but we are honored to have you as a guest to enjoy the Presentation. Please see speicial pricing at checkout. Hope to see you there!

As a follow on to our October 24th event, PMI Ocean State Chapter is once again seeking experienced project managers to share their expertise and experiences with those new to the profession and to those considering project management as a career path. This event is being hosted by Bristol Community College at their Fall River campus and is intended to provide the community with an opportunity to meet with the most seasoned and experienced project managers in the Southeastern Massachusetts/Rhode Island area. Thanks to our OSPMI volunteers, our October event was a huge success! We hope you will consider attending on April 25th. As this is a volunteer opportunity, there is no cost to attend. The evening will consist of opening remarks by BCC leadership, followed by “hosted” round table discussions (this is where you come in) regarding topics, trends and experiences in the field of project management. The evening will end with a panel discussion lead by our volunteers. You will earn 2 PDUs for your participation but more importantly, you will have the privilege of sharing your insight with people interested in the profession. And who knows, you may even influence someone’s future career path! Things to know: Light refreshments will be served (pizza & salad) Registration Required (see below) Questions, comments, additional details?
