Please join us for an interactive presentation on the Project Management lessons to be learned from the sport of rugby and a look at an MIT study on project leadership. There will be a brief overview/demonstration of the sport of rugby, some insights from MIT and we will ask for audience insights as part of the presentation.
John Carne has over 40 years of international experience in various IT and Operational leadership roles ranging from Project Manager to Senior Vice-President and CIO at several firms. His employment background includes Rockwell International, GTECH International, The Holmes Group, Invensys Process Systems, MTM Technologies, Colt Defense and several consulting firms. John started his career at American Can Corporation and took on roles with progressively increasing leadership responsibility at the various manufacturing and IT services firms he was associated with during his career.
John is a Business Transformation and ERP Project Manager specialist, who has successfully led four global SAP ERP implementations, several ERP re-implementation consulting engagements and has been a member of 2 leadership teams that rescued companies from bankruptcy. These projects improved the effectiveness of operations for his clients in the Automotive, Consumer, Defense, Metals, Service and Technology industries. John has demonstrated expertise in the following disciplines:
John is a Six-Sigma Green Belt who has obtained PMP, multiple APICS and technical certifications. John holds a BS Finance degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT and an MBA in Information Systems from Iona University in New Rochelle, NY. He volunteers as a SCORE mentor (Small Business Administration) and is mentoring multiple start-up businesses. He is an Adjunct Professor at Bristol Community College (Project Management). He is an active member of IERG (International Executives Resource Group), PMI (Project Management Institute) and SIM (Society of Information Management). John is a frequent speaker at professional forums on technical and business topics.
