As an independent advisor, Dirk offers customized talent development in creative problem-solving, facilitation services for Strategy and Innovation Workshops, as well as advisory services on key managerial challenges, such as optimal timing of entry for innovations, technology deployment, digital transformation, estimating and controlling of the economics of innovation projects and portfolios or strategic resource allocation during market introduction and rapid growth periods. He has successfully planned and executed dozens of workshops, talent development sessions and advisory projects for clients in North America, South America, Australia and Europe, including Scandinavia. Based on his extensive industry experience and research findings, he has developed a customized collection of constructive and reflective tools/exercises that maximize the creative potential of individual innovators and novice, temporary multi-disciplinary teams. His work as a facilitator and trainer is strongly influenced by designerly approaches to innovation and strategy making, Karl Weik’s conceptions and Kantian philosophy on imagination, and makes use of contemporary ideas, like constructivism’s “think with your hands” or Andy Clark’s extended “mind outsidethe head”. During Dirk’s development activities and workshops, be it in in-person or virtual settings, participants are deeply engaged, work smart and think with a smile.
