Featured Presenter Biography: Mary Marken, PMP has held a number of project and program management roles at Xerox, Office Max, and Pfizer and is currently managing programs at Covidien. VPC Humanitarian Volunteering Presentation: OSPMI President Rob Massoud and members of our VPC will be discussing the new program, the nature of volunteers' participation in it, and some of the organizations we've started partnering with. Some examples include:
Bridges, Inc. focuses on supporting people with disabilities to help them achieve a life of opportunity, enrichment, contribution, and purpose. They are looking for help converting a recently purchased building into a commerce center where those they help can learn skills and perform tasks to benefit themselves and others.
Children's Friend supports families affected by parental substance abuse. Their program named Project Connect has been so successful that people across the country are interested in it. They are looking for help putting together a plan for delivering training and support for a Project Connect model in Washington, DC.
Step-Up Center serves the Latino and immigrant population of Providence and beyond. They are looking to create a board of directors to support their organization.
