"Agile Risk Management"
In today’s world of fast paced technology and continually changing requirements and project scope, the need for Agile Project Management has greatly increased. Responding to this demand, the PMI® (Project Management Institute) launched a new certification, the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM this year. The result of this new certification is the creation of a new space where Project Management and Agile Practices for Software Development meet. This calls us to ask where do standard critical project management methodologies like Risk Management fit into Agile Practices.
This presentation provides details on the methodology of Risk Management as it applies to Agile Project Management. We will engage in discussion as we go through the steps of identifying, assessing and managing risks and discuss how these pertain to Agile Practices. As project managers, we have heard of risk management and Agile, but how do these methodologies relate, and how can we use them to manage resources and do more with less on our projects?
The objectives of this presentation include:
- What is Project Risk Management?
- What is Agile Risk Management?
- Recommendations for Implementing Agile Risk Management
What is Project Risk Management and how does it work? We will first discuss Risk and the Risk Management processes. Then we will briefly overview Agile Project Management. What is Agile Project Management and when does it make sense to use it? We will then discuss how Risk Management is incorporated into Agile Practices as we discuss Agile Risk Management. Recommendations for implementing Agile Risk Management will be provided along with discussion on best practices and how organizations are putting this into practice.
