Gus Cicala
Mr. Augustus (Gus) Cicala is the President, CEO, and founder of Project Assistants, Inc. Mr. Cicala founded Project Assistants in 1996 as an expansion and re-launch of a successful, full-service project management consulting firm that provides Portfolio and Project Management consulting services, custom development, education, and flexible staffing that form the foundation of enterprise project management solutions. He is an expert in portfolio and project management with extensive executive leadership and consulting experience and has worked with a broad range of clients throughout the US and Western Europe.
Mr. Cicala has over twenty-five years of project management experience and thirty years of information technology development and consulting background. Mr. Cicala graduated Cum Laude from The Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania, with dual majors in Management and Operations Research and a minor in Astronomy.
Mr. Cicala is also a popular speaker and writer on the subject of Project and Portfolio Management and the use of Microsoft Project as an enterprise project management technology platform and is a member of Microsoft’s product advisory council for their EPM solution. He is a published author of many popular articles and books on the subject of project management, including contributions to several editions of Macmillan’s popular Que book series: Special Edition – Using Microsoft Project. He is also the author of the project management chapter in the upcoming third edition of Expediting Drug and Biologics Development and has been a presenter at several national meetings of the Drug Information Association.
Mr. Cicala has been married for over 30 years and is the father of four young adults. He sits on the board of directors of the Limen House, one of the oldest continuously operating halfway houses in the U.S., which provides men and women in recovery from alcoholism and drug dependency an entrance into their new, healthy lives. His interests and hobbies also include skiing, golfing, tennis, gourmet cooking, traveling, numismatics, paleoanthropology, and flying single engine Piper and Cessna airplanes as private pilot.
