Dr. Myra Edelstein

Dr. Myra Edelstein has been a member of the Salve Regina University faculty for 13 years. She serves as the Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Business Studies & Economics. Dr. Edelstein earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Public Health and a Master of Science degree in Health Policy and Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She continued her studies there to earn a Doctor of Education in Organizational Development. Dr. Edelstein has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses including Management and Organizational Theory, Global Business, Organizational Development, Strategic Management, Creative Problem Solving and Quality Management.

Dr. Edelstein’s expertise in the field of quality improvement has taken her worldwide auditing, consulting and lecturing on the topics of accreditation and quality management systems registration. Dr. Edelstein has performed more than 400 quality audits for companies throughout the world, including Boeing Aerospace Operations, Garden State Tanning (one of the largest manufacturers of leather in the U.S), and Quebecor World (one of the largest printing companies in North America). Prior to her work at Salve Regina University, Dr. Edelstein was a full time quality auditor with ITS Intertek Services where she also served as a world-wide internal auditor.

Dr. Edelstein holds a Certificate in Yiddish Studies from Oxford University, England where she won the Albert and Lillian Marks Prize for writing an outstanding paper in Yiddish. An accomplished flutist and piccolo player, jewelry designer and artist, Dr. Edelstein has an eclectic background that helps her work effectively with a variety of people and organizations.
